Tamarisk, the ultra-modern 18 hole golf course and country club once the host of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, is a club known as one of the best in Rancho Mirage while a challenging course for both amateurs and professionals alike.
The golf course includes a par 72 course, 7000 yards of play as designed by William F. Bell, William P. Bell, and John Harbottle III, all members of the ASGCA. The course opened in 2005 and has a rating of 74.5.

The country club holds a very notorious piece of history in Rancho Mirage, California. From being the birthplace of golf carts in 1954, to the cream of the crop in name-dropping and luxurious living,  Thunderbird is a well known establishment that has been popular to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Ginger Rogers, and even Presidents Eisenhower and Ford. Robert J. Altevers was responsible for drafting the design; he dug into the history of the club to preserve the original environment while adding all the modern amenities.
 
Thunderbird Heights
Thunderbird Heights is an established, elite, private, gated community that rests in a hillside in the heart of Rancho Mirage and close to the Thunderbird Country Club itself. Indian Wells Country Club
Indian Wells Country Club offers a state of luxury and serenity that is unmatched in this area. The Club offers two elite championship golf courses known as the Classic Course and the Cove Course. The Classic Course was designed by Eddie Sussalla in 1956 and planned by himself and the other founders of this elite Club community: Desi Arnaz, Paul Prom, Linn Johnson, Earl Murphy, Milt Hicks, Bill Worthing, and John Curci.
